Marcus "Cipher" Chen

Transforming skin into canvas since 2016. Specializing in blackwork, geometric patterns, and fine line realism.

What started as a passion for drawing evolved into a lifelong dedication to the art of tattooing. After apprenticing under legendary artists in Tokyo and Berlin, I founded Cipher Ink Studio with one mission: to create meaningful art that stands the test of time.

All prices are estimates. Final pricing depends on design complexity, placement, and size. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to book, which goes toward your tattoo.

Share your ideas, reference images, and vision. We'll discuss placement, size, style, and timeline.

Design

I'll create a custom design based on our discussion. You'll receive proofs and we'll refine until perfect.

Session

On tattoo day, we'll finalize placement, get you comfortable, and bring your design to life.

Aftercare

You'll leave with detailed aftercare instructions and an aftercare kit. We follow up to ensure proper healing.

Everything you need to know before your appointment.

Fill out the booking form on this page or DM us on Instagram. Include your idea, preferred size/placement, and reference images if you have them. We'll get back to you within 48 hours to schedule a consultation.

Our minimum is $150. Small pieces typically range $150-300, medium pieces $350-600, and larger work is $180/hour. Final pricing depends on complexity, detail, and placement. We provide exact quotes after consultation.

We accept walk-ins for flash designs when we have availability. For custom work, appointments are required. Follow us on Instagram for flash day announcements!

Get a good night's sleep, eat a full meal before your appointment, stay hydrated, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo area. Bring snacks for longer sessions!

Initial healing takes 2-3 weeks. You'll experience some redness, swelling, and peeling - this is normal. Full healing takes 4-6 weeks. We provide detailed aftercare instructions and premium aftercare products with every tattoo.

Yes! Cover-ups are one of our specialties. Send us a photo of your existing tattoo and we'll let you know what's possible. Some pieces may benefit from laser lightening first - we can recommend trusted partners for this.
